The Heke loves dogs

When the NZ Herald rang to ask us about being dog friendly we said …. YES! The article is titled ‘Bone Appetit - Auckland restaurants offer dog diners bark for their buck’. If you know us, you know we LOVE dogs, well behaved dogs, and on-leash at all times. We have plans in the very near future to bake special doggy treat biscuits using our ‘whisky mash’ which is whole barley that has been ground to a fine meal, and then boiled. We will combine that with peanut butter, flour and egg to make a nutritious and delicious doggy biscuit. Spent grains are about 20% protein and 70% fibre, making it an ideal food source for farm animals, or for crafting fine treats for your best four-legged friend!

We love our doggy friends and as we have an on-leash good-behaviour policy they never worry other diners.

In fact, we feel privileged to have so many families be they older, younger, by friendship not blood, or be the doggy variety.
